White is the color of winter in Cheboygan. Here we do winters right
with lots of white, fluffy snow and clear blue skies, very few of
those gray days and melted slush that seems to frequent many suburban
areas. We do winter in Cheboygan! Strap on the cross country skis or
the snow shoes and head out into miles and miles of trails. The Black
Mountain Recreation Area has groomed and ungroomed trails for
beginners, intermediates and advanced skaters and gliders.

Boyne Highlands are just 45 minutes away. Hockey is a passion in
Cheboygan and our indoor Ice Pavilion provides men's, women's, and
children's leagues as well as open skating hours. Didn't bring the
skates? Don't worry, they are available for rent. Ice fishing is a hot
( or maybe cold! ) activity in Cheboygan area as our many inland lakes
are the perfect setting for a shanty or good ole fishin' hole.
